SOLUTION:

( { \frac{5}{7} )}^{2}   \div ( { \frac{5}{7} )}^{3x + 1}   =  { (\frac{5}{7} })^{4}  \\  \\   since \: the \: bases \: are \: same \: we \: can \:  \\ subtract \: the \: exponents \\  \\

So,

   { (\frac{5}{7}) }^{2 + (3x  - 1)}  =  { (\frac{5}{7} )}^{4}  \\  \\ again \: the \: bases \: are \: same \: so \:  \\  equate \: the \: exponents \: of \: both \\ the \: sides

2 + (3x - 1) = 4

2 + 3x - 1 = 4

1 + 3x = 4

3x = 4 - 1

3x = 3

x = 3/3

x = 1

Hence, the value of x is 1
