I am using @ for alpha and B for beta
Here, @ + B = 6
squaring both sides we get,
@^2 + B^2 + 2@B = 36
but it is given that @^2 + B^2 = 40
=》 40 + 2@B = 36
and @B = k
=》 40 + 2k = 36
=》 2k = 36 - 40
=》 k = -2
Here, @ + B = 6
