R=1 ohm , l= 250 m resistivity = 1.6×10^-8 ohm-meter
since we know that,
R = (resistivity Xlength of the wire)/area of cross section
A = (1.6× 10^-8 X 250)/1
= 4× 10^-6 m^2.
since area of circular wire = πr^2 = π d^2/4
resistance becomes 1/4 of the one in previous case as it clears that R is inversely proportional to the square of. the diameter. so as diameter is doubled then it becomes 1/4 of the previous resistance.
