We have to find the location of the image (v) and magnitude (m)

Now,

 \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{ u}

 \frac{1}{30}  =  \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{ - 12}

 \frac{1}{30}  =  \frac{1}{v}  -  \frac{1}{12}

 \frac{1}{30}  +  \frac{1}{12}  =  \frac{1}{v}

 \frac{2 + 5}{60}  =  \frac{1}{v}

 \frac{7}{60}  =  \frac{1}{v}

 \frac{60}{7}  = v

8.57 = v

Now,

m =   \frac{ - v}{u}

m =  \frac{ - 8.57}{ - 12}

m = 0.71 \: ans
