k = (a - b \div a + b) {}^{2}  \\ 36 =  {(3 - b \div 3 + b)}^{2} \\ 6 = (3 - b) \div (3 + b) \\ 18 + 6b = 3 - b \\ 7b =  - 15 \\ b =  - 15 \div 7
b=-15/7

Answer:

k = (a - b \div a + b) {}^{2}  \\ 36 =  {(3 - b \div 3 + b)}^{2} \\ 6 = (3 - b) \div (3 + b) \\ 18 + 6b = 3 - b \\ 7b =  - 15 \\ b =  - 15 \div 7

 \bf b = \dfrac { -15 } { 7 }
