Hey there

Let me introduce you first from these compounds

•When A colourless lead salt is heated it produces a yellow resolution and brown fumes

•It us an example of Decomposition reaction

Now coming to your Question :-

[ ¡ ] Here lead salt is •Lead nitrate Pb [ NO₃]₂
and the brown fumes is → Nitrogen dioxide [ NO₂]

The chemical equation involved in it is -

2Pb[NO₃]₂ → 2PbO + 4NO₂ + O₂

Hey!

A colourless lead salt on heating process leaves a yellow residue and brown fumes.

(i) Name the lead salt and the name of yellow residue?

Lead salt is Lead nitrate - Pb (NO3)2

Brown fumes are Nitrogen Dioxide - NO2

(ii) Chemical equation involved in this =>

Pb (NO3)2 ===> PbO + NO2 + O2

Balanced equation -

2 Pb (NO3)2 ===> 2 PbO + 4 NO2 + O2

This chemical reaction is decomposition reaction , decomposition reactions are the reactions in which a Compound breaks down to form individual elements.
