perimeter of rhombus=1/2×d1×d2
=1/2×16×30=1/2×480
= 240cm

Ramcharan: I think that formula is for area of the rhombus and not the perimeter

The diagonals of the rhombus are perpendicular to each other and also bisect each other.We also know that the sides of a rhombus are all equal,lets call the side of the rhombus a.

So from the diagram we can observe that one side and half of the two of the diagonals form a right angled triangle with the side as the hypotenuse.We can use the pythagoras theorem to find the length of the side.

By pythagoras theorem

 a²=(16/2)²+(30/2)²

    = 8²+15²=64+225=289

a²=289⇒a=√289=17cm

Therefore the side of the rhombus is 17cm.

Ramcharan: Sorry forgot to find the perimeter...it is 4x17=68cm is the perimeter of the rhombus
