are some 25 paise coins and some 50 paise coins in a bag.The total
number of coins is 140 and the amount in the bag is 5000 paise . find the
number of coins of each value in the bag (first find the value of y and then x)

Let no. of 25p coins = x
and no. of 50p coins = y
A/Q , x+y = 140 ................1
        25x + 50y = 5000 ..................2
multiply 1 by 50,
50x +50y = 7000 ............................3
Subtracting 2 from 3,
25x = 2000
 x = 2000/25 =80
y = 140 - 80 = 60
no. of 25p coins = 80
no. of 50p coins = 60
