Hi ,

1/x - 1/( x - 2 ) = 3

[ ( x - 2 - x ) ]/[ x ( x - 2 ) ] = 3

=> -2 = 3x( x - 2 )

=> 3x² - 2x = -2

divide each term with 3 , we get

x² - 2x/3 = -2/3

x² - 2 × x ×1/3 = -2/3

x² - 2 × x × 1/3 + ( 1/3 )² = ( 1/3 )² - 2/3

( x - 1/3 )² = 1/9 - 2/3

( x - 1/3 )² = ( 1 - 6 )/9

x - 1/3 = ± √(-5 ) /3

x = 1/3 ± √5 i /3

x = ( 1 ± √5i )/3

I hope this helps you.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

[1/x]-1x-2=3

[1-x²-2x]/x=3

1-x²-2x=3x

1-x²-2x-3x=0

1-x²-5x=0

x²+5x-1=0

we get imaginary roots

by using the formula we can find

I will give the formula then please you do yourself

x=[-b±√(b²-4ac)]/2a

here b=coefficient of x

a=coefficient of x²

c=constant
