It is given that

x-2y=1-------×2

2x-y=1

we get

2x-4y=1

2x-y=1

by elimination methode we get

-3y=0

y=0

and

in from eq 1

x-2y=1

x=1+2y=1+2×0=1.

hence x=1 and y=0.

x-2y=1 _____(1)

2x-y=1 _____(2)

(1)*2,

=>2x-4y=2

(2)-(1),

2x-4y=2
-2x+y=-1

=>-3y=1
y=-1/3

2x-y=1
2x-(-1/3)=1
2x+1/3=1
2x=1-1/3
2x=(3-1)/3
2x=2/3
=>x=1/3

x=1/3 and y=-1/3

hope it helps you.....
