x+2y= 15

x = 15-2y (1)

3x + 5y= 30

Apply (1) here

3(15- 2y) +5y = 30

45-6y +5y =30

45 - 30= y

15= y

so. x= 15 - 2×15 = -15

x/y = -15/15 = -1
