Solution :

Put eq ( 1 ) in eq ( 2 ) ,,,,

$\frac{x}{3} + y = 34 \\ \\ \frac{3y}{3} + y = 34 \\ \\ \frac{3y + 3y}{3} = 34 \\ \\ \frac{3(y + y)}{3} = 34 \\ \\ 2y = 34 \\ \\ y = 17$

Put y = 17 in eq ( 1 )

$x \: = 3y \\ \\ x \: = 3 \times 17 \\ \\ \times 51$

x = 51

y = 17
