(x+5)/2 + (x-5)/3 = 25/6

Multiply both sides with 6,
{(x+5)/2 + (x-5)/3} ×6= { 25/6}×6
{(x+5)/2}×6 + {(x-5)/3} ×6= { 25/6}×6
3(x+5) + 2(x-5) = 25
3x +15 +2x -10 = 25
5x +5 = 25
5x = 25 -5 = 20
5x = 20
x = 20/5 = 4

hence x= 4

uneq95: and next time do use brackets while questioning
uneq95: follow me and mark my answer as brainliest:-P;-)
aryanpaul67: thanks Ritesh
uneq95: thanx Aryan!
aryanpaul67: but why we will multiply with 6
uneq95: can you simplify the left hand side ?
aryanpaul67: yes
uneq95: for that you take the lcm of 2 and 3 which is six and modify the two fractions to combine them to a single fraction
aryanpaul67: ohhhhhh

x+5/2+x-5/3=25/6
x+x+5/2-5/3=25/6
2x+5/2-5/3=25/6
2x+5/2=25/6+5/3
l.c.m of 6,3=6
2x+5/2=25/6+30/6
2x+5/2=55/6
2x=55/6-5/2
l.c.m of 6,2=6
2x=55/6-30/6
2x=25/6
x=25/6x2
x=25/3

uneq95: bro according to what you understood from the question your answer is correct
uneq95: but its not the correct question
