Solution:-

x-12=√x

(x-12)^2=x

x^2+144-24x=x

x^2-25x+144=0

x^2-16x-9x+144=0

x(x-16)-9(x-16)=0

x=9,16

putting x=9 in given eqaution. we will not get as 12

so,x will not be equal to 9

so,x=16

Substitution method:-

let √x =p

then,

x=p^2

p^2-12-p=0

p^2-4p+3p-12=0

p(p-4)-3(p-4)=0

p=3,4

So,√x=p

√x=3

x=9

√x=4

x=16

we will only consider x=16
