Given Equations:

x+y= -1

x-y=2

To Find:

Roots of the Simultaneous Equations.

Solution:

*SUBSTITUTION METHOD*

__________________________

x+y= -1............. (1)

x-y=2................ (2)

So, x=2+y

Now, Substituting the value of x in (1)

2+y+y= -1

2+2y= -1

2y= -1-2

2y= -2

y= -2/2

y= -1

Substituting the value of y in (1) we get,

x+y = -1.......... (1)

x-1=-1

x= -1+1

x=0

Therefore,

The solution of the given simultaneous equations is (0, -1).
