x+y = 14 ...(1)

x-y = 2.....(2)

x+y = 14

-x+y =- 2

2y = 12

y. = 12/2

.y = 6

putting the value of y in eqn (1)

x+6= 14

x = 14 -6

x = 8

Answer:

X=8 and Y=6

Step-by-step explanation:

Here,

X+Y=14 - - - - (1)

X-Y=2 - - - - - (2)

Adding (1) and (2)

X+Y=14

X-Y=2

2X=16

or, =16/2

i.e. X=8

Putting value of X in (1)

8+Y=14

or, Y=14-8

i.e. Y=6

Hence,

X=8 and Y=6
