Solve x – y = 28 and x – 3y = 0 and hence, find the value of ‘m’ for which y = mx + 5

Answer:given x−y=28,x−3y=0

⇒28+y=3y

⇒2y=28,y=14

therefore x=42

now substituting these values in y=mx+5

we get 14=42m+5,m=429
