form this

x/xy+y/xy=5

x/xy-x/xy=9

solving this we can get

1/y+1/x=5........(1)

1/y-1/x=9.........(2)

from this

let 1/y =b

and 1/x=a

we get equations as

b+a=5

b-a=9

adding this

we get

2b=14 b= 7

substituting b in equation 1 we get

7+a=5

a=-2

from our first assumption

that

1/y =b

=7

1/x=a

=-2

from this we get

x=-1/2 and y=1/7
