solve x² + (1 - P)x - P = 0

solution:-

x² + (1 - P)x - P = 0

=> x² + x - Px - P = 0

=> x(x + 1) -P(x + 1) = 0

=> (x + 1) (x - P) = 0

=> x + 1= 0

Or, x - p = 0

x = -1

Or, x = p

Thus, the two roots of the quadratic equation are -1 and p.
