Equation : x² + 8x = - 15

Adding the half of coefficient of ' x ' on both sides we get,

x² + 8x + 4 = - 15 + 4

=> ( x + 4 )² = - 11

Taking root on both sides we get,

=> x + 4 = √ - 11

√ - 11 is not possible as it is an unreal number . Hence the equation cannot be solved further.

Hence the equation will have imaginary roots.
