a + 2d = 7 -----(1)

a + 8d = 17 ---(2)

------------------ by subtracting (2) from (1)
-6d = -10

d = 6/10

d = 3/5

now put the value of d in equation (1)

a + 2(3/5) = 7

(5a + 6) / 5 =7

5a + 6 = 7×5=35

5a = 35-6

a = 29 /5

hence ,a= 29/5 and d= 3/5

hope it helps !
thank you !

Heya User Here is your answer
a  + 2d = 7 \\ a + 8d = 17 \\  \\ a = 7 - 2d \\ a + 8d = 17 \\ 7 - 2d + 8d = 17 \\ d =  \frac{5}{3}  \\ a = 7 - 2 \times  \frac{5}{3}  \\ a =  \frac{11}{3}  \\therefore \: a =  \frac{11}{ 3}  \: and \: d =  \frac{5}{3}
I have Solved it by Substitution Method

Hope it will help you friend
