Yes, the weight of the car will remain same.

  • The weight of any object is solely dependent on the amount of the material by which that object is made or the mass. The shape doesn't affect the weight if the amount of the material stays constant.
  • Now, in the both cases of car and doll, the amount of the material or the mass stays the same (gravitational acceleration is also taken as constant) and only the shape is changed.
  • So, the total weight will remain same (ie. 12 cubes) in both of the cases.

Given : Some amount of clay is used for making a doll. It weight 12 cubes

The same amount is then used to make a car

To Find : Will the weight of car remain the same. Why?

Solution:

Some amount of clay is used for making a doll.

same amount is then used to make a car

Hence mass of clay is same in both cases

only shapes changes

Weight = mg

m = mass

g = acceleration due to gravity

mass of clay is same in both cases

g = acceleration due to gravity  is also unchanged

Hence Weight is same in Both case

Hence Weight of car remains same.
