Some animals like cat, animal,etc eye glowing at night . why

Some animals have tapetum lucidum behind their retina...Light on entering the eye hits photoreceptor which transmit information to the brain...But when it doesn't hit the photoreceptor, tapetum lucidum acts as mirror to bounce it back for a better vision..

few animals like cats, their eyes glow in the dark because of some special light reflecting surfaces .they are called as tapetum lucidum. this special reflecting surfaces not only help in better vision but also makes them to glow. this is an advantage for humans in the dark find whether there is any organism in front of us or coming near to us.
