Let x be the number of rows and y be the number of chairs. Then the number of rows filled with chairs = x-3. Total number of chairs, y = (x-3)4 ...(1). Total number of chairs, y = 3x+3 ...(2). From (1) and (2)=(x-3)4 =3x+3.4x-12=3x+3
x=15
From (1), total number chairs = (x-3)4 = (15-3)4 = 12*4 =48
