Wind-pollinated flowers are not as attractive as insect pollinated ones. Plants which depend on wind pollination actually do not invest in making the flowers look attractive, nor sweet-smelling or having nectar in them. Instead, such flowers are small and numerous, collectively have large quantities of pollen that are light and dry and can be carried by the wind. A single flower is small in size. The process of wind pollination is called animophily.
