1. some objects float and some objects sink in water because the density of water is 1 g/cc and if any object has more density than water then it will sink and if any object has less density then it would float
2. when an object has more density then the amount of force it exerts on the surface of water became more and so it sinks whereas when density is less then the amount of force becames less and the upward force applied by water on that object is more so it floats
