some objects bounce on throwing down but some dont why is it so and what is the difference in nature of these two types of objects

some objects are bounce . Ex. ball because when ball pushes on the floor and the floor respond by pushing back with equal and opposite force (Newton's third law of motion)

But.. on the other side..

Some surfaces absorb more energy than others do. A hard surface, such as concrete, absorbs less energy compared with a soft surface, such as a carpeted floor. The more energy absorbed by the surface, the less that remains in the ball for it to bounce.
