Question :- some of the rational numbers between 7 and 11 can be expressed in the form m/6 where m belongs to a set of natural numbers . which of the following statement is true.

(a) All possible values of m lie between 42 and 66

(b) All possible values of m lie between 42 and 77

(c) All possible values of m lie between 48 and 60

(d) All possible values of m lie between 66 and 77.

Solution :-

Rational number :-

  • A number that can be expressed in the form p/q, where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0, is called a rational number.

we have given that, some rational numbers between 7 and 11 can be expressed in the form m/6 , where m is a natural number .

So,

→ (7/1) * (6/6) < m < (11/6) * (6/6)

→ (42/6) < m < (66/6)

rational numbers are :- (43/6) , (44/6) , (45/6), __________ (65/6)

Therefore,

→ 42 < m < 66.

Hence, All possible values of m lie between 42 and 66 . (Option A). (Ans.)
