now a days mainly the reason for air and water pollution is human activities. Farmers are using insecticides, pesticides, etc chemicals which are insoluble in soil. They move into underground water and then goes into rivers. thus water pollution occurs. By usage of petroleum in vehicles and for other uses they relases harmful gases and thus leads to air pollution

ADVANTAGES OF AIR POLLUTION :

1. Air pollution helps plants grow

pollution isn’t 100% bad. Start by asking a farmer what they put in the ground to make their plants grow—nitrogen.

Theoretically, putting more nitrogen in the air might actually cause plants to grow more. Scientists have tested this by tracking regular plots of forest and plots that they pump with extra nitrogen.

2. Air pollution slows climate change

A  Some pollutants we put out heat up the Earth, like carbon dioxide. But pollutants like sulphur actually keep our planet cooler.

When sulphur particles are in the atmosphere (such as from factories or the Icelandic volcano that erupted in 2010), they reflect sunlight away, cooling the Earth down.

3. Air pollution keeps polluted cities cooler in the summer

ADVANTAGES OF WATER POLLUTION :

All water except that purified by both osmosis and gas filtration inevitably contains other liquids, suspended solids, and gases besides H2O and it's all pollution. But as only unwanted plants are weeds, not all these "impurities" are considered pollution when in drinking water-- only those we dont want to drink at all, like arsenic and lead, or at least dont want too much of, especially those we deliberately pollute water with to kill microrganisms that carry disease, like chlorine.

But note too little "pollution" can be harmful too: if not enough chlorine, more people get water borne diseases some of which are quickly fatal like cholera.

Also consider the trace minerals and elements like iron we get from well waters and springs . Depending on their mixture and concentrations, they make "polluted water " that is usually healthier than osmotically filtered pure H20 but could much more toxic if even just one element is abnormally high, such as Pb or As.
