• the main roles were: rama,lakshmana,bhratha,shathrugna,seetha,dhasharatha,kaikeyi,hanuma,sugreeva,vaali,ravana.
• ravana by listening to the bad teachings of his sister shurpana kidnaps seetha devi.the story runs on how rama finds seetha and kills raavan

Ra means darkness, Mayana means removal.

so Ramayana means the removal of darkness.
