3)solution
Let a be the larger number
Let b be the smaller number
It is given that
a+b=90...........i
And
a/3 =a+2b..........ii
Equating i and ii
a/3=a+2b
Cross multiply
a= 27+6b
a-6b = 27.............iii
Subtracting iii from i
. a+b=90
.- a+6b=-27
__________
7b=63
b=9
Substituting the value of b in equation i
a+9=90
So a=90-9 = 81
Therefore,
Larger number is 81
Smaller number is 9
Thankyou
