Hy there,
Our stomach is usually protected by the action of HCl by mucus secreted by cells in stomach.
The secretions of mucus are alkaline, and HCl is acidic, so the action gets neutralised and stomach is protected.
Hope it helps.
Thanks.

nehaelsa35: But sometimes HCL acid attacks the inner lining and it causes considerable pain and I want to the name of the damaged area
chinmay1312: there's no such designated area miss. nd if this happens, it may be due to large production of acid or less production of alkali by the mucus cells. this result in acidity
nehaelsa35: sir actually I got the answer
nehaelsa35: thank you for your answer sir
chinmay1312: most welcome
