Let time take by A is x hrs
Let time taken by B is x - 5 hrs
Calculate amount of water filled in 1 hr
1/x + 1/(x - 5) = 1/6
[(x - 5) + x] / x(x-5) = 1/6
6(2x - 5) = x^2 - 5x
12x - 60 = x^2 - 5x
X^2 - 17x + 60 = 0
X^2 - 12x - 5x + 60 = 0
X (x - 12) - 5(x - 12) = 0
(x - 5) (x - 12) = 0
X = 5 and 12
For x = 5 Tap B will take 0 hrs which is not possible.
So consider 12
Tap A will take 12 hrs
Tap B will take 7 hrs
Thanks
