we know that x+1/x = 7

Squaring both side ,

x^2+1/x^2 + 2*x*1x=49

{we know (a+b)^2 = a^2+b^2+2ab}

x^2 + 1/x^2 + 2 =49

x^2+1/x^2=47. -(1)

(x-1/x)^2=x^2 + 1/x^2 -2*x*1/x

(x-1/x)^2=47-2. { By using (1)}

(x-1/x)^2=45

square rooting both sides,

x-1/x = 3√5
