There are so many articles entitled “25 things I wished I knew before” or “25 things you should do now to feel more productive” or “10 things that are killing your productivity/creativity”.
I used to read these articles. To learn from others’ experiences, to take note of their advices and to draw my own ‘to do list’ for my mid-twenties.
But I felt like there was something wrong though I couldn’t explain it.
I used to like these articles, because they helped me build my better self, they helped me enhance my productivity. So what could be wrong with them ?
Then I realized.
They always imply first that you are not good enough. They start by telling you that you are wrong and that you have to change.
They always have something to do with regret. If you don’t follow these rules now, you will regret it. And I was becoming more and more afraid of regrets. It felt like I have to do so many things now if I didn’t want to have regrets.
In one sentence :
They made me feel guilty.
But that’s thinking in a negative way!?
Why couldn’t we share a positive way of think? Do things after a positive thought instead of a both negative and regretful one.
What if, instead of listing what I wish I had done, I list all what I am proud to have done, so to encourage others to do them and encourage myself to do more ?


I didn’t say that I didn’t like these articles. I still believe that they are helpful.
But I want to show you that what you have done before was also great and you have to keep it or just do it better.
