Somu had to travel certain distance. The travelled 3/5 of the distance at 40 kmph. and the remaining at 60 kmph. If the total time taken is 6 1/2hours, find the total distance he travelled ?

Distance = 3x/5

Speed = 40 km/hr

So, time = (3x/5)/40=3x/200

We are given that sonu traveled remaining at 60 kmph

So,Distance = 2x/5

Speed =60 km/hr

So, time = (2x/5)/60=2x/300

So, total time = (3x/200)+(2x/300)= 13/2

13x/600=13/2

2x =600

x=300

Thus the total distance is 300 km.
