Sonia took some grains of boiled rice in test tube ‘A’ and Madhur took chewed boiled rice in test tube ‘B’. Both of them poured 1 – 2 drops of iodine solution into the test tubes and observed the colour change. In which test tube would the colour change? Why?

Answer:

The colour would change in both the test tubes because rice, like all other grains, contains about 30% of starchy carbohydrates. The solution would change to a blackish-blue colour.

Hope it helps you.
