The nephrons is the basic functional unit of the kidney. It is responsible for the formation of urine. Which is the waste excreted out of the body after filtration of blood.

The nephrons are quite vital as there chief function is excrection of body wastes such as urea, regulation of blood electrolytes and metabolites and regulation of of the water concentration.

The blood is filtered in the nephrons to remove wastes such as urea, excess electrolytes, metabolites and excess water from the it. This accumulation of waste is what is referred to as urine.

The urine is the released out of the body from the nephrons through urinary organs.
