Heya friend,

Here we go :

We know,

Sound is a longitudinal wave, i.e. ,

It requires a material medium for it's propagation. Here, the vibration occurs in the direction parallel  to the direction of propagation of wave.

So,

in the absence of any medium or vacuum , the sound wave cannot travel.

Thanks !
