Sound signal from a ship floating in water hits at the bottom sea and reflects back to the ship after 6 seconds. Speed of sound in water is 1500m/s. Calculate the depth of sea

Given:

time =6seconds

speed of sound in water=1500m/s

In order to find the depth of the sea we need to know the formula

It is,

v=d×t

velocity (speed of sound) and time had given in question

since,we have to find the depth the formula will change as,

d=v÷t

By substituting,

d=1500÷6

d=250

Here,d is 250m

Therefore, d=250

v=

Therefore, the depth of the sea is 250m

check:

If to check whether the answer is correct we have to apply the formula

v=d×t

If we substitute 250m in d and 6seconds in t ,we will get 1500m/s as v.we shall check the answer,

v=d×t

v=250×6

=1500m

There fore our answer is correct

Therefore the depth is 250m
