LHS:

=(x+a) (x+b)

=x^2+bx+ax+ab[/tex]

=x^2+(a+b)x+ab[/txt]

Hence proved

LHS=RHS

I am using associative law to simplify this.

(x + a)(x + b) = x^2 + xb + ax + ab

taking x as common

(x + a)(x + b) = x^2 + (a +b)x + ab

hence LHS = RHS
