In context to the given question it is given as

selling price=625

loss= 25%

cost =x

hence we find the cost

applying formula

sp=(100-loss) % of cp\\\\625=(100-25) \times cp\\625=\frac{75}{100}\times cp\\=\frac{3}{4}\times cp\\cp=\frac{625\times 4}{3} \\cp=833.33\\\\

cost price =833.33

note :- in question it is not given that what we have to find but as per logic the third term is CP
