ANswer :

Define the following :-

1). Incident ray :-

[ The light ray, which strikes any surface, is called the incident ray. ]

2). Reflected ray :-

[ The ray that comes back from the surface after reflection is known as reflected ray. ]

3). Normal :-

[ A line of 90° to the line representing the mirror at the point where the incident ray strikes the middle is known as normal. ]

4). Angle of incidence :-

[ The angle between the normal and incident ray is called the angle of incidence. ]

5). Angle of reflected :-

[ The angle between the normal and reflected ray is known as angle of reflected. ]

6). Regular reflection :-

[ Reflection from a smooth surface like that of a mirror is called regular reflection. ]

7). Irregular reflection :-

[ The parallel rays reflected from a rough or irregular surface are not parallel, the reflection is known as diffused or irregular reflection. ]

8). Lateral inversion  :-

[ An image formed by a mirror the left of the object appears on the right and the right appears on the left is known as lateral inversion. ]

Answer :

1). Incident ray-  The light ray, which strikes any surface, is called the incident ray.

2). Reflected ray- the incident ray bouncing back in the same medium after striking the reflecting surface is called reflected ray.

3). Normal- A line drawn perpendicular to the line representing the mirror at the point where the incident ray strikes the mirror.

4).  Angle of incidence- The point at which the light hits the surface is called the Angle of incidence.

5).  Angle of reflected- the angle between a reflected ray and the normal drawn at the point of incidence to a angle of reflecting.

6). Regular reflection- The parallel rays reflected from a rough or irregular surface are not parallel, the reflection is known as diffused or irregular reflection.

7). Irregular reflection- It is the diffused reflection from uneven surface such that the light rays are not parallel to each other and do not form an image is known as Irregular reflection.

8). Lateral inversion- The reversal of appearance of an object, pictures or letters from left to right when the image is formed by a plane flat mirror is called lateral inversion.
