Solution :-

Mean Proportion :- A mean proportional is a number that comes between two other numbers and which satisfies the equation a/x = x/b.

Let the mean proportional between 9 and 36 is x .

→ a = 9

→ b = 36 .

Than,

a/x = x/b

Putting values ,

9/x = x / 36

cross - Multiply,

x² = 9 * 36

→ x² = 3*3 * 6*6

→ x² = 3² * 6²

Square - Root Both Sides Now,

x = 3 * 6

x = 18 (Ans).

Hence, the mean proportional between 9 and 36 is 18.
