Magh Bihu is a great festival of Assam. It is celebrated with wide varieties of foods.
The names of some major items are large and Pithas means Indian cakes and sweets like Nariko are made of coconut, Tailor large, Sawlor large, Tilpitha, ie. Pitha made if Til, Ghilapitha, likely pitha, tailor pitha, sandoh guru, Jengpitha.
It is basically a harvest festival celebrated by the Assamese people in the winter season, during the month of Magh mid-January.
Magh Bihu is alternately called as Bhogali Bihu as is celebrated with community feasts post annual harvest.
The main food festival highlighting the food due to the abundance of grains after the harvest.
