Speech on National Reading Day
Good morning, everyone.
I am here to deliver a speech on National Reading Day. We are celebrating this in honour of the Keralite teacher, Puthuvayil Narayana Panicker. Our goal is not only to celebrate that person's works but to promote reading throughout India.
Sadly we are badly attracted to mobile phones and electrical gadgets, and we are pushing away our necessity of reading, the most beneficial task one can perform to gather knowledge and unveil the mysteries of life and of our universe.
Books can take you from one page to another, from one place to another, from one door to another and from one person to another. It can give you a leap of joy, a leap of faith and a leap of understanding.
Let us join our hands and our minds together to read and gain knowledge. We also have to learn the use of new technologies in such a way that we do not get addicted to bad habits but we get the habit of reading through them.
