India is a largest democratic country where democracy is celebrated. a democratic country give freedom to its citizen in all spheres of its life whether it be economical linguistic cultural social or educational. Liberty of thoughts freedom of speech are basic tenets of democracy. 1909 only a few people were allowed to elect they included educated men and women the first General Assembly elections held in the year 1951 for 489 seats

Without elections, it is very difficult to hold our politicians to account. If there is no responsiveness to sanction from politicians, they begin to be more corrupt and do not need to listen to those whom they represent. It is very easy to run away with less representative and more extreme policies if there is no fear of recall. The Communist ideal of no elections where people can simply represent themselves in one big egalitarian society is one that, in theory, seems beautiful and cuts out unnecessary bureaucracy, but in practice is one that makes politicians an elite few, even more detached from society and immune to popular accountability.
