Everyone Has the Right to Education

Good morning every one present here. I feel so honoured to have got an opportunity to speak on ‘Everyone Has Right To Education’. With the RTE coming into effect, a new horizon of endless opportunities to achieve the goal of ensuring 100% primary education for all children in India has opened up. This act makes it mandatory for all the schools (Private schools in its ambit too) to provide free elementary education to the poor living in remote areas. The schools in that area will ensure transportation for the poor along with the other requirements. This will really have an impact on the increase in the literacy rate in India.

We must never forget the fact that Einstein, Newton, Dr Bernard, Shakespeare, Helen Keller, Abraham Lincoln, etc. all achieved glory through education only. The power that enabled them to be so brilliant in their fields was the power of EDUCATION. Education proved to be a window for them to look deep into the universe and the infinite possibilities of doing and knowing the secrets of life. Imagine if the above mentioned names of personages had not got this window, what would have happened? Einstein became the great Einstein only after looking out of this window into the mysteries of life and finding solutions to them! So did the other achievers.

So, education is the only power that equips us with the required skills to lead a happy, fulfilling and meaningful life. Without education we would remain mere shallow mirrors, the inadequate creatures of imperfection. Our life problems unsolved!

The days are not far when India will be placed on par with the other advanced countries. More importantly, education will improve the quality of skilled manpower in India. And soon the skilled people of India will eliminate all the existing problems in our country. The need of the hour is spreading awareness about Right To Education in all parts of India, especially the backward parts. It is the beginning of new chapter in the history of our nation. Let’s contribute in implementing the Right to Education in sincere earnestness.

Good morning one and all present here on this important International Literacy Day. I am ......... from class X to present my views on the importance of education in one's life.

According to the Director General of UNESCO literacy is the foundation to build more sustainable future for all. Despite all efforts 774 million people in the world are still devoid of basic reading and writing skills and 64% out of them are women. Isn't it an alarming situation for the humankind? Nevertheless, it's never too late to begin our efforts in the direction of improving literacy rate.

The first step in this direction should come from individuals rather than government or non-governmental institutions. Unless each person doesn't realize the merits of being literate and how education makes us dignified and better human being, no miraculous change can come in the society. History is replete with examples how people like Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam strove to educate themselves despite their limited means and difficulties. They could reach soaring heights only because they had determination and will power to improve their lot.

In addition to this the responsibility lies on the government and administration to provide minimum basic needs to each person so that he can think beyond fulfilling his basic needs and endeavor to be educated. Dignity and Respect for Life should be maintained so that no child is forced to work to make both the ends meet.
Centralization of money is another factor that increases the gap between have's and have not's. We should realize that real wealth is our education and not fat bank balances. If wealthy people can help underprivileged in their pursuit of getting education, world will be a better place to live. Every person has right to education and it's fundamental to his existence.

Lastly, I urge my audience to contribute as much as it can to promote education and enable every human being to build more sustainable future for themselves.

Thank you for giving a patient hearing.
