Why is blood called fluid connective tissue?

Because it is in the liquid form and present inside the whole body which link different tissues of organs.

Yes it is because there are two main basic reasons for this.

(1) It has same origin (embryologically) is mesoderm like in all connective tissue types.

(2) Blood connects the body systems together for oxygen, hormones, nutrients, excretory materials, etc.
