Good morning respected teachers and my dear friends.

Today's topic for discussion is "Importance of Keeping AliveTraditional Entertainment". I consider it a matter of pride to be born in a country with rich cultural heritage. Our country has many traditional arts that are slowly dwindling and losing importance. Any country that does not preserve its traditions and culture is bound to lose its foundations very soon. India being a vast country with several languages, religions and customs, there are a diversity of dance, music and theatre forms too.

Indian art forms like puppetry, dances and music have educated our society from times immemorial. In the ancient times, people used to learn morals and ethics from these art forms. They taught people about family virtues, importance of social etiquette and helped eradicate many social evils. The modern dance, music and theater finds its roots in these traditional forms of entertainment. During the Indian freedom struggle, when freedom fighters were restricted from any communication, several artists used theatre in order to communicate ideas and share opinions.

Hence it is very essential to preserve them for the furture generations and encourage the younger generations to learn these art forms.

Thank you and Jai Hind!
